I got to enterprise rent a car and was expecting my economy compact rented vehicle and was told that there were no more so I was getting and upgrade.
For me, this doesn't fly because I classify that as additional money I have to spend on gas returning the car.
I acknowledged the fact that I'd reserved my car and now they didn't have it. So I requested they find me another car, at another rental place (I'd go pick it up) or a gas allowance.
Instead, they found another rental company that would lend the car, got it washed, delivered and beautified me, sent me for a coffee and a now I got a free soap out of it on the way.
Yay me!

you know what Emilia, that is positively awesome- every time i get a free upgrade I bend over and take it- and think "woohoo free upgrade!"... You have just opened my eyes to the effect of a free upgrade... more $. thank you for making me a little wiser (no promises i won't take the free upgrade but at least i have the whole picture:))!
